So What is Lomilomi Anyway?
I am often asked the question, “What is Lomilomi”? Lomilomi, in the way that we are referring to it here, is an ancient Hawaiian Healing where the Giver facilitates the Receiver to connect to their bodies natural healing and releasing abilities through ceremonial sacred space holding.
At its essence, it is an experience of unconditional love, on multiple levels.
Each experience is unique. When entering into the space of a lomilomi session, I like to describe it as the body and your higher self having a conversation, and providing access to the experience that you most need in this moment.
Whether you are well on your path of self realization or newly to it, precisely what you need and can handle is what is available and will show up. And all that comes up is relevant, and coming up to the surface, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, to be seen, heard, felt and released.
There are multiple styles of lomilomi that differ from island to island and have been passed down by the elders of different lineages.
In the temple lomilomi teachings that I have learned, we are using the breath as a vehicle to connect to our bodies natural and innate ability to heal and release on all levels.
Using the tools of HA Breath and Bone Washing, we will connect into our body’s natural rhythms of healing, releasing Cherished Wounds, blockages that show up as physical and emotional discomfort. Thereby Creating Space to allow for new energy to enter.
The experience in a session prepares you for moving forward in daily life with less internal road blocks. And the powerful teachings within Lomilomi can be applied in your every day life as you honor your “kuleana“; your unique soul’s journey and responsibility of expression.
In Person Lomilomi Experiences:
One-on-one Full Experience (standard)
One-on-one Divine Feminine/ Divine Masculine Full Experience
A full temple lomilomi session with Tara-lee is usually suggested to allow between 2 to 3 hours, with about 1 to 1.5 hours in the space of working with the breath. It is a very intuitive, attentive and inclusive experience attuned to your specific needs as they come up.
Laying down fully clothed and face up on the massage table, a carefully selected playlist of music will accompany you through the experience. Tara-lee will guide you through breathing techniques throughout the session and will be intuitively guided to do Bone Washing, different adjustments, body work, similar to a massage.
The use of essential oils, sage and or Palo Santo may be used throughout the session unless of course requested not to.
The combination of the breathwork, energy work and the body work, will connect you into your bodies natural rhythms of healing and releasing. In this safe and sacred space, all forms of expression are welcome and encouraged. And all that is coming up, is coming up to be released.
A full experience includes a special gift, a token of gratitude as well as an integration package that includes thoughtful items to help you anchor in this unique and profound experience.
Divine Masculine or Divine Feminine Experience: Music and ambiance geared specifically to support and nurture the Divine Masculine or Divine Feminine Energy within.
2 Person Lomilomi Experiences:
Partner or Familia Healing Experience
Sacred Union Partnership: A couples healing experience.
Familia: A healing experience for two family member, such as a mother and a daughter.
Similar to the one-on-ne session, however these are designed for two people to have a co-created lomilomi healing experience. Each person will have their own massage table and will receive individual attention and body work to support their unique experience. And as we are entering into the sacred space of healing together the combined energies of all involved will be present and able to experience healing on levels outside of the physical and mental limitations.
Music and ambiance are geared specifically to support and nurture the individual and combined healing experiences.

- Intuitive Guidance: One-on-one attentive listening and space holding. A powerful tool to process and transmute mental and emotional blockages.
- Lets Talk Story: Ancient Hawaiians would teach in Mystery Schools and through storytelling. This is an Online circle gathering covering teachings imbued with the Spirit of Aloha. A place where we can come together share, learn, and grow in community.
- Sacred Space Ohana (family): A private group for Sacred Space Lomilomi students to integrate and explore practicing lomilomi and space holding as we nurture our connection and growth together.
Group Offerings
Ancient Hawaiians would teach in Mystery Schools, this is an example of Circle Culture.
When we gather in community we are cocreating and amplifying the healing experience for ourselves and the collective.
- Lomi HA Breathwork Journey: Deep and intentional form of breathwork designed to activate your bodies natural and innate healing rhythms and abilities, combined with gentle Bone Washing, adjustments to help facilitate the release of trauma and stagnant energy from the body.
- Laulima (many hands): Laying of hands. Feeling and being present with the flow of Mana, witnessing and observing what is present and holding space for the shift. Each person will have an opportunity to receive while the group creates a safe and sacred healing container giving and receiving mana through subtle non-invasive touch.
- Lomilomi Introduction and Demonstration: A unique opportunity to witness the art of Lomilomi and sacred space holding.
- Private Group or Home Party: 3 to 6 people come together, each person will have an opportunity for a private individual MINI session with Tara-lee. We will also gather in circle to amplify and bring witness to the co-creative energy of being in community and integrating together.

Witnessing the impermanence and consistent powerful flow of nature, including the aftermath of the lava flow of 2018 that changed so many things including the beloved Pohoiki hot ponds.
